This two-page illustrated feature reimagines a traditional recipe as a playful, visual story. Combining hand-drawn illustration, digital painting, and editorial layout design, I created an engaging magazine-style spread that breaks down my family's homemade mashed potatoes and gravy recipe in a nostalgic, approachable way. I wanted the layout to feel both informative and personal, as if flipping through a family cookbook passed down through generations. The illustrations mimic hand-drawn textures and casual annotations to evoke sentimentality, while the layout balances text and imagery for a seamless visual flow.
